So everything is going well on the pregnancy front...
holidays took a bit of a toll on weight, but still in good standing with the doc. all the screening tests came back normal, so that's good too. next time comes the dreaded glucose test, and i'm just not looking forward to it. Clothing myself is becoming more difficult as days go by...not in FINDING the clothes to fit, but actually putting them on myself. i now have to have help tying shoes or buckling straps on shoes... socks are next, and underwear... well... i have a new method of getting those on. no worries, i'm still wearing it...no britney moments here.
Anyway, with all of the complaining that i have been doing about how uncomfortable i am lately (can't lounge on the sofa anymore, isn't comfy... etc.) and how i can't be as independent as i used to be, i have to say that i really do appreciate the fact that i am having these difficulties. and every time i get down, i remind myself that i am blessed to have the opportunity to go through this.
I want all of you with children to give them a huge hug tonight (or now, if you are there with them) and thank whatever higher power you believe in for them being there.
I say this because my dear friends are having some difficulties bringing their soon-to-be daughter home from another country. Some of you may have heard of the adoption issues that Guatemala is going through right now, but if you haven't, you may want to check it out. You may not have friends or family that are involved in it, but if you did, it would be something you keep track of. It's terrible the things that they have to go through in order to give a child a better life, and one filled with love. Normally it is a long process, but due to the governmental changes and other things that affect the adoption process, it is becoming even longer and more chaotic. Something that is meant to hinder illegal adoptions is actually halting the legal ones. I have a link to Telissa's blog off to the right side if you'd like to learn more about the process, or if you just want to learn more about them and their family. If anything, you can see pictures of sweet Mariela!
In any case, I just wanted to ask that you keep my friends in your thoughts! and Telissa, I hope you don't mind me sharing...I just want this all to be over, and for you to bring Mariela home!

thanks a lot, i hear all teary eyed and sniffly (is that a word??)...i still have faith that she'll make it here one way or another (even if we have to rent a chicken bus and haul her through mexico!)...it isn't over until she is here with us (and her little pen pal, Avery) :) you guys are in our prayers, too that you dreams are fulfilled sooner than later.
