So last night we converted Avery's crib into a toddler bed....and it was a success! She was so excited when she saw it, she immediately climbed up on there and had a look of amazement on her face! She kept pointing to the bed and looking at us with a happy/confused face, as if to ask "is this really mine?!" so she proceeded to keep climbing on and off, and then standing on the bed, and then jumping on the bed, and throwing all the stuffed animals off of the bed.... then at bedtime, she took herself to bed, crawled in all by herself, and laid down. for 10 minutes. then she appeared in the kitchen with her lovies and didn't want to go back to bed. Mike finally took her in there and let her have a fit, and then she stayed in bed while he was there with her, and finally went to sleep. She was scared, it was different and she wasn't sure it was ok. But she slept all night, and even had to be woken up this morning! I would call that a success.
We'll see how naptime goes today.....
