So I get home from a long day on the west side of the metroplex, and pick up dinner. I think everything is ok, feeling pretty good albeit exhausted, and start walking out of the restaurant with our food. suddenly i'm struck by a pretty intense pain in the belly region. what could this be? am i in labor? NO. but i make it to the car and sit there for a couple minutes waiting for it to subside. phew. didn't have the baby in the car. I get home, and decide to get comfy before eating dinner. and that's where the big surprise happened. la la la, take off shoes. la la la, take off socks.... WHOA! what happened to my left foot and ankle? what ankle? there IS NO MORE ANKLE! so i go through the night and elevate my feet when i can (not much) and this morning it's better, but both ankles are a bit less defined than they once were. why now? i have 26 more days. why couldn't this just not happen this time? at least it went down and i didn't look inflated like i did last time for months on end. my rings didn't get tight, my wrists still look ok.... so maybe it was a fluke. Let's hope. because it's cold outside, and flip-flops aren't going to cut it this go-'round! And remember that random pain? yeah, i had another one before i sat down to eat. still don't know what it was, but my guess is that it was yet another muscle that said "uncle".
all i can say is that i am counting down the days (obviously) and am ready to meet this little bundle of joy!
Until then i will be getting a mani/pedi, a haircut, and doing everything i can in order to look my best in case of spontaneous labor prior to the 17th! (moms have fears of their kids in dirty underwear when taken to the hospital...i have fears of un-pedicured feet!)
